You are here: Mzansinews Chickens disguise drugs at brothel
Members of the crime policing forum (CPF) were taken by surprise when they entered a brothel in Pretoria North last weekend, Beeld reported. They found 320 live chickens in the garage of a building in Horn Street, Wolmer, a police spokesman said.
"Police suspect the chickens were used to smuggle drugs," said Maanda Singo."Their strong stench helped to disguise the smell of the drugs."
Police seized the drugs and the SPCA rescued the chickens.
Acting on a tip-off, the CPF first discovered four women in the brothel, one of whom was allegedly engaged in a sexual act at the time.
They also found cash, about 100 pornographic DVDs, dagga and cocaine crystals.
"There were about 15 phones, ringing constantly as customers of the brothel called," Marius Freysen chairman of the CPF, told Beeld.
He said the owner of the house, who was married to one of the four women, had not yet been traced.
The women would face charges of possession of drugs and prostitution.
