Set in the mighty Victoria Falls, “Zambezia” is the 1st 3D animation movie to be produced and created in South Africa. It is a family drama-comedy that will not only entertain but also teach the whole family ubuntu.
The movie is about Kai an exuberant young falcon which journeys to the bird city of "Zambezia". There he learns ukuthi utswa kae and ukuba ngumuntu ngabantu. Made under Triggerfish Animation Studios, the animation was directed by Wayne Thornely and written by Raffaella Delle Donne, Anthony Silverston and Andrew Cook.
I oldtimer ka Kai “Tendai” (Samuel L. Jackson) was very strict and it made Kai very bored and lonely. Kai believes that there is more to the world than the small Katungu boundary that he is used to.
A kooky Stork and a Weaver confirm his suspicions when they crash into his world. From them, Kai learns that down the river is a bustling bird city with exciting opportunities for a talented flier such as himself. In an argument with his father, Kai learns that Tendai knew about the city and had been there before.
Now let’s leave it there! I don’t want to spoil the fun for you guys. Just head out and go watch what happens thereafter because that’s where the real story begins. You can have a look at the Trailer and get a little glimpse of abopopayi laba abamncwa.
The movie is scheduled to commence screening on the 26th of December 2012 in South African Cinemas.
