BY THOBEKA NGEMA
The Proteas recorded a 3-0 win over Pakistan in the 3rd and final Test match. The Proteas won by an innings and 18 runs in Centurion. The victory was their 6th successive Test win and they extended their unbeaten run to 15 Test matches. Graeme Smith became the 1st man to win 50 Test matches as captain.
The Proteas had set Pakistan a massive total to chase down, in which they failed in both their innings as they were dismissed before they could reach the target. A few Pakistani batsmen tried to build partnerships and keep the runs coming in, but their efforts could not get them in front.
The man of the match award went to debutant Kyle Abbott with 9 wickets in the Test match. The man of the series award went to AB de Villiers with 352 runs at an average of 88, including two centuries. He took 17 dismissals, including a world record of 11 dismissals in the first Test match.
The Test series may be over, but now we are looking towards the T20's and the One Day Internationals.
